Privacy Policy

This policy explains what TrendScout collects, why, and the choices you have.

This is a starting template written for this application. Have it reviewed by qualified legal counsel for your jurisdiction before a public launch.

Information you give us

Account details: email address, display name and a password (stored only as an Argon2id hash).
Content you create: watchlists, tags, notes, saved comparisons, game ideas, saved Game Idea Generator ideas, and TrendScout AI conversations and build plans.
AI requests: the preferences, instructions and messages you submit, and a usage record (time, type and size of each request) used to enforce fair-use limits.
Preferences, such as your default trending window and number format.

Information collected automatically

A session cookie (ts_session) that keeps you signed in. It is HTTP-only and not used for tracking.
Activity inside the app (games viewed, compared or added) to power your Recent activity feed.
IP addresses, processed transiently for rate limiting and abuse prevention.
Anonymous page-view statistics through Vercel Web Analytics, which doesn't use cookies and doesn't identify individual visitors.
TrendScout's own page-view counts: the page path and a daily-changing anonymous visitor code derived from your IP address and browser, so we can count unique visitors per day. No cookies are used, and the IP address itself isn't stored. Browsers with Do Not Track turned on aren't counted.
Guest watchlists are stored only in your browser's local storage.

How we use it

To provide the service, keep your account secure, and send transactional emails such as password resets. We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising.

AI processing

When you use the Game Idea Generator, your preferences, additional instructions and, for design documents, the idea and your notes on it are sent to Groq (GroqCloud), our AI provider, to generate a response. When you use TrendScout AI, your message, recent messages in that conversation and the current build plan are sent to Groq. Don't include personal or confidential information. Generated ideas are stored only if you save them; TrendScout AI conversations are saved to your account until you delete them. The Roblox Studio plugin sends TrendScout only what it imported or why it couldn't.

Payments

Purchases are processed by PayPal, including card payments. TrendScout receives the order and payment IDs, the amount and the status needed to unlock your plan, but never your card details or PayPal login. PayPal's own privacy statement covers the data you give it.

Public game data

Game statistics shown in TrendScout come from Roblox's public endpoints and relate to experiences, not to you.

Your choices

Edit your profile and preferences in Settings.
Delete your account, which permanently removes your private data.

Children

TrendScout is a tool for developers and isn't directed at children under 13. Don't create an account if you're under the minimum age required in your country.
