TrendScout only uses publicly available information. This page explains exactly where it comes from and what it can't tell you.
Roblox public web APIs
Roblox's Open Cloud APIs don't provide cross-experience discovery or public statistics, so TrendScout uses the public, unauthenticated web endpoints that roblox.com itself uses. No account cookies, API keys or private endpoints are involved, and access controls are never bypassed. All requests are made server-side.

Search and chart endpoints aren't formally documented by Roblox and may change without notice. When an endpoint fails or changes, TrendScout shows cached data with a warning rather than guessing.
How history is collected
A scheduled job records an observation (players, visits, favorites, votes, timestamp and source) for each tracked game. Games are tracked when someone adds them to a watchlist, when they appear on Roblox's charts (Top Trending, Top Playing Now and others), or when they're already in the catalog. Viewing a game also records a fresh observation. Observations of the same game less than 10 minutes apart are skipped as duplicates.
Charts and growth figures use only these stored observations. A game TrendScout started tracking recently will have short history — that's shown as “not enough data”, never filled in.
Imported history
The operator of a TrendScout instance can import historical observations from another source, such as an export they are permitted to use. Imported observations are stored separately labelled by source, combined with TrendScout's own collection in charts and growth figures, and listed under “History sources” on each game page with their date range. Current statistics always come from Roblox's public APIs.
RoWatcher
Player and visit history going back about 90 days comes from RoWatcher's public API, which records Roblox's public numbers every few minutes. TrendScout stores it at hourly detail for the last two days, every three hours up to two weeks, and twice a day before that, and refreshes the most popular games daily. Every game page with RoWatcher data credits it with a link to that game on RoWatcher.
BloxToolbox
Daily player counts for about 100 of the biggest Roblox games, from June 28, 2026 onward, come from BloxToolbox's player-count archive, which they publish as open data files with attribution. These are one reading per day, recorded from Roblox's public API by BloxToolbox, and are credited on each game page where they appear.
Trending methodology
- Only games with enough stored observations in the selected window are ranked (an observation near the window start, a minimum observation count, and at least 85% coverage).
- Player momentum (50%): average concurrent players now vs. at the start of the window, damped so small games can't dominate.
- Visit growth (35%): visits gained in the window relative to visits at the window start — lifetime totals don't win by default.
- Engagement (15%): like ratio, used only when a game has at least 100 votes.
- Each signal is converted to a percentile rank before combining, then lightly scaled by data confidence. Games need at least 20 current players to qualify.
Limitations
- No private analytics: revenue, retention, session length, conversion and demographics aren't public.
- Concurrent players change minute to minute; a single observation is a snapshot, not an average.
- Collection can miss runs (API errors, rate limits). Coverage is shown alongside growth figures.
- Genre labels come from Roblox and many experiences aren't categorised.
- Category totals cover games TrendScout tracks, not all of Roblox.
